On 20 May 2022, we held an in-person graduation ceremony and dinner for the pioneer batch of Year 13 IB Diploma graduates at EtonHouse International School. Together with their parents and educators, we gathered to celebrate the remarkable moments and academic achievements of our Year 13 students through their culmination years of growth and share their joy of beginning a new chapter.

This momentous juncture is a significant milestone in the graduates' lives and for EtonHouse as we commemorate the end of their fruitful learning journey and the completion of the inaugural run of the IB Diploma programme at our EtonHouse International School Orchard.

The ceremony kicked off with a special performance of 'Forever at EtonHouse' put up by the Year 5 students, with Edward Wyn Jones, Principal of EtonHouse International School Broadrick and the music teachers on the instruments. Together, they filled the ballroom with beautiful moments as they chorused the lyrics, "A school full of love, filled with fun and joy, a love for learning, and a place we call home".

Guest of Honour, Mrs Ng Gim Choo, Founder and Managing Director of EtonHouse International Education Group, graced the event and presented the graduates with their graduation certificates. In her speech, she addressed the community by expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the parents and educators for their trust, confidence and tremendous support, and leave the graduates with an inspiring message, “[17 years ago] I dared to dream and started EtonHouse. I wanted to start a school where learning can be fun and enjoyable. If I had not dared to dream and stepped out of my comfort zone, I would have still been a housewife and would not have imagined starting a school which is now an international education group.”

“Class of 2022, I would like to encourage you to dream, listen to your heart and work towards your goal. Along the way, you may fall but when you do, get up and learn something. Always remember that networking is important, never stop learning and lastly, dare to dream. Those who dare to dream will win and succeed in life.”

Chris Quinn, Principal of the Orchard campus, took the stage to honour the Class of 2022 and express his pride in their growth, resilience and contribution to the school, despite unprecedented challenges. He closed his speech with some suggestions, “The positive things in life are light to carry - friendships, families and memories. Carry more of those. Disappointments are heavier - let them go. Don’t hide yourself, your personality, your passions and your ambitions. Protect who and what you value the most. Things will happen but you will recover, you will learn from it, you will grow and you will become more resilient from it. You are on your own now, but everyone here tonight supporting you knows that you are ready.”

The intimate and heartwarming event also saw past and present educators including Alec Jiggins, Founding Principal of the Orchard campus, join in the joyous occasion to express their wishes and encouragement for the graduates as we cheer and bid farewell to our beloved Year 13 students.

On behalf of the cohort, our scholars Mael Stirrup and Riya Sachdev delivered their speeches of sincere gratitude to the school and their educators. With heartfelt appreciation, they reflected on the friendships gained and invaluable experiences that helped shape their growth and reach their full potential as confident, competent global individuals through their EtonHouse learning journey. Riya closed off the speech with a message of hope which we echoed, “You will be successful. You will be where you need to be.”

Congratulations to the Class of 2022! We are so proud of you, and we wish you the very best in the next step of your learning journey. Soar high and make a positive difference in the world!
